10th ANNUAL DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW; Phillipsburg Mall To Again Host Popular Event in 2017. . . . .
The dates for the popular tenth edition of the week long Quaker Steak & Lube Dirt Track Heroes Show have been confirmed for 2017 and the hard-working staff and the many historical groups and speedways are putting all of the necessary pieces in place to produce another great show. The successful event will once again begin its week long run at the Phillipsburg Mall located off Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, New Jersey beginning on Sunday, March 5th and will run through March 11th.
The upcoming show encompasses the majority of the local short track scene and has become a must go to event for the local Tri-State area. Quaker Steak and Lube has taken on the lead sponsor role fir the third consecutive season.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway & Raceway Park closed out the 2016 season Saturday evening with the awards banquet at the historic Genetti Hotel in Williamsport for about 230 guests representing the 360 sprint car, super late model, pro stock, roadrunner, and go kart divisions.
This year’s top performing drivers received trophies, jackets, commemorative championship rings sponsored by Foss Jewelers, and shared a $25,000 point fund.
Mark Smith, of Sunbury, who was racing in the Short Track Nationals in Arkansas over the weekend, clinched his second career Newville Family of Companies 360 sprint car track championship with nine top five and nine top 10 finishes, including four feature wins. Smith previously won a track title in 2014.

The Wintermyer Auto Salvage Sprint Showdown presented by Rock-It Pizza brought closed the curtain on the 2016 Susquehanna Speedway. And it brought a little of everything.
Hanover’s Jacob Allen gave the largest crowd of the season a thrill has he led all 30-laps to capture his first career 410 Sprint car win. Allen’s win came in the final BAPS Coatings & Supplies race of 2016.
After winning the dash, Allen, who recently completed his third full season on the World of Outlaws tour lined up on the pole and would keep Lance Dewease at bay during the entire 30 lap distance as he became the fourth different winner in five BAPS events this season.
PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Tickets for the upcoming Port Royal Speedway awards banquet coming up on Saturday, November 19 continue to be on sale at a price of $30 each.
Beginning at 5 pm, the banquet will honor all 2016 track champions with an awards dinner held just off of the speedway backstretch, at the Port Royal Community Building located along Fourth St.
Tickets are available for a price of $30 each. Deadline for ordering tickets is Friday, November 11.
FINDLAY, Ohio (Nov. 3, 2016) - Caleb Helms worked hard to discover consistency on the race track during the 2016 season.
Helms chased points with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions and he rounded out the season ranked eighth in the championship standings.
"We were racing against stout cars every weekend and were able to finish eighth in points," he said. "I think we improved some this year and earned some decent finishes, which of course we wanted more of those. We just have to be more consistent.
Howard Wins Sprint Car Portion of Louisiana State Championship Event
McKENZIE, Tenn. (Nov. 2, 2016) – J&J Auto Racing scored another big week as the iconic Sprint Car chassis brand added championship titles and two victories to its 2016 results list over the weekend. Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) were officially crowned as the 2016 World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Sprint Car Series champions and won the final event of the season at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte on Oct. 29 to close out another stellar season. Casey Mack battled it out to win the 2016 River Cities Speedway Championship in Grand Forks, ND, and Cody Howard wrapped up the year with a victory in the Sprint Car portion of the Louisiana State Championship at Baton Rouge (LA) Raceway.
CHARLOTTE CLOSER: Gravel adds one final podium finish to bring 2016 Outlaw Season to a Close
CARLISLE, PA. - November 2, 2016 - David Gravel and the CJB Motorsports team rolled into the season ending Bad Boy Off Road World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte with the intent to pick up their 10th and 11th wins on the season.
As the final checkered flag flew on the season, the team came up just one spot short of making it double digits in the win column.

This years Ohio logistics national open benefit presented by Fk rod ends was effected by rain on October 1st but that didn't effect the season long raffle that featured world of outlaw sprint car Joey Saldana's moti/shell shock helmet.
With the helmet raffle concluding after the world finals, the much anticipated drawing took place which saw Marshall Missouri Tobey weaver's name being drawn.
"I'm really excited this helmet is heading to Missouri, Tobey has a couple other racing items that he has collected over the years and I'm hopeful that this item will add to his collection". Said Kolten Gouse

With a promising forecast of 60 degrees and sun for York Haven, PA, the Wintermyer’s Auto Salvage Sprint Showdown presented by Rock-It Pizza will officially close the curtain, not only on a successful racing season at Susquehanna but also for the 2016 season in Central Pennsylvania.
The Sprint Showdown will be the final event of the 2016 BAPS Coatings & Supplies 410 Sprint Series. Four BAPS 410 Sprint Series events have been spun off this season with recent Williams Grove National Open winner Danny Dietrich scoring two feature wins with Greg Hodnett and Lance Dewease each picking up one win.
