Akron, Ohio-Released earlier this week that Ryan Smith of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania; who has spent the last two seasons under the mentorship of Donnie Kreitz Jr driving the teams #69 410 sprint car, will be leaving the team to step into the role as full time driver of the #94 for Rob Warko Racing Of Reading, PA. This fills a void made by RWR’s long time driver Matt Mountz leaving to take time off from racing. Smith starts in his new role as driver starting November 7th-9th, 2013 at "The Dirt Track at Charlotte" World of Outlaw race, Concord, NC.
The Warko family is no stranger to the dirt tracks of Pennsylvania. Competing over the last 11 years with driver Matt Mountz who is also Warko’s nephew, "I just couldn’t think of not racing. It’s something I and my family love to do and we built this shop to continue racing with Matt. When he said he was ready to take a little time off and is getting married, well it broke my heart think #94 wouldn’t be racing." Warko adds. "Matt and Ryan grew up racing together as far back as 270cc micros. They are good friends and competitors and seemed like Ryan would be a nice fit for our team."
Smith who has won in every division he has ever raced, since the age of 13, is still looking for that first 410 Sprint Car win. Amassing over 185 previous feature wins on both dirt and asphalt. Smith comes close at Williams Grove on September 27, running a very game 2nd in the nights feature "World of Outlaw Tune Up" to his team leader and winner Donnie Kreitz Jr. Kreitz in his celebration speech even comments on Smith focus to win.
"He’s really done a good job," said Kreitz. "He’s really focused. They are doing a good job with the car and he’s doing a really good job driving. Tonight, he had a new frame. We did too actually. That

Smith has steadily improved his performances in 2013. Smith comments on his time with Donnie Kreitz Jr. "Donnie has been like a second father to me. His experience has been a tremendous help and the education I have received from him is invaluable! Making this decision hasn’t been easy. I owe a lot to Donnie, Davie Brown and the Kreitz Oval Track Team. I am grateful for the opportunity they have given me these last two seasons." Smith who owned and funded the cars he has driven while with Kreitz feels the education he received was priceless.
Smith is a 3rd generation racer. His parents Randy and Denise Smith are both accomplished drivers in their own right. The couple met in the ’80’s, while racing Karts in the World Karting Association. The Smith’s have encouraged Ryan and his younger sister Shannon who is also an accomplished dirt driver to be involved in the family businesses. As owners of S&S Speedways the Smith Family also promotes and manages Hamlin Speedway. Ryan has had a well rounded education, covering everything from driving, car set up, sales, public relations and dirt track preparation.
Armed with an education few will ever get, Smith feels now is the time to command a team of his own. The last two seasons were limited on budget but high on education. Smith feels the new team and opportunity have strong suits where he had deficits in the past. Excited to get started with his new team, Ryan Smith knows he races against great drivers and teams every weekend as part of the famed "Pennsylvania Posse". Three-Day Memorial Day Holiday Bob Weikert Memorial Sprint Car Extravaganza Announced
Port Royal – As the checkers fell on the Port Royal Speedway season finale featuring the World of Outlaws sprint cars on Saturday night, work is already underway on the 2016 slate of events. Work has been ongoing since late August evaluating the calendar for a new season with coordination meetings and phone calls taking place between area divisions and sanctioning bodies.
The newest and biggest event on the 2016 schedule will be the expanded Bob Weikert Memorial. Originally planned to expand to a two-day format, oval officials announced at the Saturday night season finale that the new format for next season will now see the event become a three-day sprint car blockbuster, taking place over the entire three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The 2016 Weikert Memorial will be a three-day Port Royal PA Posse sprint car racing extravaganza that will span the weekend next season, kicking off the summer with pizzazz. Dates for the 2016 Bob Weikert Memorial will be Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 28, 29 and 30, 2016.
Zimmerman wins sixth straight at Lincoln in All-American Outlaws
ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 7/2/2015 – Combined, car driver Stevie Smith and car owner Fred Rahmer have more than 200 career Lincoln wins. But has Stevie Smith ever had a better week? “Definitely not!” responded Smith after pulling the Fred Rahmer #51s into victory lane for his fourth win in five races as part of the 25th Annual Pennsylvania Speedweek.
“You’re not telling me nothing I didn’t know before the race started,” said Smith when asked about the race-long challenges from Lincoln points leader Brian Montieth, “I knew Brian was going to be racing hard. This is his best kind of track. He can carry a lot of momentum and his car’s real nice. Before the race, I thought to myself, ‘Of course, you have 22 other cars out here in the field you gotta race with, but you’d better be ready for Montieth.’ And sure enough…if I didn’t see that black nose.”
An inversion of eight put Smith on the outside of the front row beside 2014 Lincoln Speedweek winner Kyle Moody for the start. Moody grabbed the lead on turn two of the start and led the first five laps, with Smith and Montieth close behind.
Smith snatched the lead from Moody in turns three and four of lap six, and led the rest of the way, despite pressure from five-time 2015 Lincoln winner Montieth through heavy lapped traffic over the final third of the race.
In fact, it was with ten laps to go that Montieth actually slid in front of Smith exiting turn two, only to have Smith reclaim the lead exiting turn four of lap 20.
“I made my car wider and we just kinda went in between our normal feature set-up and something a little freer because the track was a little wetter. It seemed to work,” added Smith, whose father Steve won the first Speedweek title in 1991, “I figure that Montieth was probably the fastest car, but we were fast enough to stay ahead of him. I figured he was gonna be close, but I didn’t like when I saw him out my right side there and was eating that top up. I thought ‘I’m going to make him go around me.’ I was prepared to cut across if I had to with the lapped car, but I just felt I had a lot better momentum staying the top”.
Montieth took one last shot at Smith as they passed under the white flag waving as the two entered turn one, but Smith held his line to cross .34-seconds in front for the $7,000 payday plus $300 bonus from race night sponsor BAPS Auto Paints and Supply.
Lucas Wolfe started 11th and came on strong over the final laps to pass Danny Dietrich with five laps to go to cross third, with Dietrich settling for fourth and Robbie Kendall fifth. Sixth through tenth were Moody, Adam Wilt, Greg Hodnett, Tim Wagaman, and Gerard McIntyre, Jr.
Jac Haudenschild, who sustained mechanical problems in time trials, came back through the B-Main to start 24th in the feature and finished 14th. BAPS driver Brent Marks started 18th and finished 11th.
Fast time in time trials over the 39-car field was set by Tim Wagaman with a one-lap time of 13.242-seconds (101.948 MPH).
Heats for the 410’s were won by Kendall, Montieth, Smith, and Moody, with the other BAPS driver Austin Hogue winning the B-Main.
Smith’s win padded his already impressive Speedweek points lead (824 points). Second through tenth after five nights of Speedweek competition were Danny Dietrich (731), Lucas Wolfe (664), Greg Hodnett (649), Alan Krimes (515), Brent Marks (479), Aaron Ott (457), Brian Montieth (434), Lance Dewease (353), and Cory Haas (319).
Pasadena, Maryland’s Kurt Zimmerman continued his Lincoln domination in the 20-lap All-American Outlaw feature, scoring his sixth win in-a-row in the Pigeon Hills. Zimmerman started on the outside of the front row and led all 20 laps, with polesitter Hunter Nester, 20th-starting Brad Shank, Dylan Keim, and Justin Cullum completing the top five.
All American Outlaw heats were won by Nester and Zimmerman.
Lincoln swings right back into action this weekend, Saturday, July 4th, with the 358 Sprints, PASS RaceSaver (305) Sprints, and 600 Xcel Modifieds. Gates open at 5:30 PM, with time trials set to get underway at 7:30 PM.

Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2015) – Jason Sides will compete with a 360ci engine this week for the first time since February.ย Sides is set to tackle the 28th annual Comp Cams Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., where he will race on Wednesday during the Short Track Nationals Open before his preliminary night on Friday. The weekend wraps up Saturday with the $15,000-to-win Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour feature.
“It’s always fun to be able to race the Short Track Nationals,” he said. “We have an off weekend with the World of Outlaws schedule and I-30 Speedway is fairly close to home so it worked out well. We’re also going for the fans that watched me and Paul race. We don’t get to race around there so it’s an opportunity to thank the fans.”
Sides captured the 2001 Short Track Nationals title and he has been in the hunt during rare appearances since that big win.
“It’s a challenge for sure,” he said. “You have to be on your game every time you hit the track. The goal is to accumulate as many points as possible so you’ve got to be up on the wheel.”
Sides is coming off a wet weekend with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. He competed last Friday at Port Royal Speedway, where the program was rushed to beat the rain.
Sides qualified 15th in his group, placed 10th in a heat race and then used a provisional to start the main event at the back of the field.
“Once you get buried in qualifying on a big, fast track like that it’s tough to overcome that,” he said. “We were in the back of the main and it was really challenging to make any progress because there were cars all over the track and you were constantly in dirty air, which really effects the handling at a track like Port Royal.”
Sides finished with a 24th-place result.
The Outlaws event on Sunday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., rained out.

Brad Sweet Wins Port Royal World of Outlaws Show
The Speedway Motors/Champion Racing Oil Central PA Sprint Cars ran their next to last show for the 2015 season at Port Royal Speedway Saturday October 24th. It was the World of Outlaws final appearance in Central PA but their only Port Royal show of the year. With over 40 cars signed in to the pits Brad Sweet came away with the win over team mate Daryn Pittman to make a sweep by the two Kasey Kahne owned teams.
The Speedway Motors/Champion Racing Oil Central PA Sprint Cars have one show left on the schedule on November 14th at Susquehanna Speedway Park.
