Lucas Wolfe spent the better part of eight months trying to secure a Sprint Car ride. He had some part-time gigs, but nothing with staying power.
Car owner John Zemaitis and the Zemco team needed more than a driver. Long-time crew member Ryan Hand left to join the Mike Heffner team and Greg Hodnett, leaving a big hole in the organization.
So when Wolfe and the Zemco crew struck an accord for the upcoming racing season, it seemed like the perfect match. All criteria was met.

Gerard McIntyre Jr Gets First Win Of The Year
The Speedway Motors/Champion Racing Oil Central PA Sprint Cars were set to run their last Williams Grove Speedway show for 2015 on Friday night but the rain once again changed everything. The show was canceled by the weather and the Williams Grove Speedway season has come to an end. The series then ran their last Lincoln Speedway show for the year the following night on Saturday October 10th, with Gerard McIntyre Jr winning the feature for his first win of the 2015 season.
The Speedway Motors/Champion Racing Oil Central PA Sprint Cars have three shows scheduled for this coming weekend. On Saturday October 17th Port Royal Speedway has their next to last show for 2015. The following Saturday October 24th the World of Outlaws will be back in Central PA to close out the Port Royal season. On Sunday October 18th both Susquehanna Speedway Park and Path Valley Speedway will host Speedway Motors/Champion Racing Oil Central PA Sprint Cars point shows.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (Oct. 6, 2015) – After looking at a dire forecast for Central Pennsylvania, Dale Blaney and his Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team decided to race closer to home last weekend. Blaney, who had planned to head to the 53rd annual National Open at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., competed on Sunday at Atomic Speedway during the Freedom 40.
"We made the decision Wednesday night not to head to the National Open," he said. "We were going to sit over there for three days and do nothing. We weren’t sure they were even going to get Sunday in. It tore me in half not running that race."
Blaney kicked off the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association event at Atomic Speedway by qualifying third quickest around the rough track.
"They had some rain and it was rough," he said. "It got really rough in turns one and two. You couldn’t run anywhere but the bottom two lanes. In turns three and four you could move around a bit. It wasn’t a normal Atomic race track that we run good at it."
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will present Foss Jewelers Championship Night at 7 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 12, featuring the final points races of the season for the 360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.
In the Mach 1 Chassis 360 sprint car standings, TJ Stutts of Liverpool has already wrapped up his first career track championship. With four wins in a row and five on the season, Stutts leads the standings by 650 points over four-time winner Mark Smith of Sunbury entering the final 360 sprint car race.
Five-time super late model winner Jeff Rine of Danville, who is seeking his 11th career track championship, holds a 125-point lead over three-time winner and former champion Steve Campbell of Danville in the Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center super late model standings. Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove trails by 190 points in the third position.
Three-time winner Andrew Shoop of Mifflintown leads the A&A Auto Stores pro stock standings by 80 points over one-time winner AJ Stroup of Evandale in the chase for the championship, while John Fowler of Montandon goes into this Saturday’s roadrunner race just 60 points ahead of one-time winner and former champion Bob Bussey of Northumberland.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park will present a program of go kart and 125 micro sprint car racing at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.

MECHANICSBURG: Cory Haas has shown speed over the last month and flirted with a spot in Victory Lane at Williams Grove Speedway. But in typical Haas fashion, he just couldn’t catch a break. There were times lapped traffic didn’t cooperate. Another instance, he got caught from behind by a charging competitor. He’s also ran out of laps and, in some cases, it was all of the above.
That wasn’t the case during Sunday’s 25-lap Billy Kimmel Memorial. Haas took advantage of Rodney Westhafer’s misfortune and made it stand for his sixth career win at the historical half-mile oval.
“We have been good here,” Haas said. “We’ve just had dumb stuff happen. The car has been fast the last month, but we just had circumstances that kept us from winning. “I just have to thank all my guys. Last night, we had motor problems … it just shut off, and I stuffed it in the wall. We got this car done today at 4 p.m., and I told Mike [Barshinger] I’m going to run the crap out of it and whatever happens, happens.”
Continued Haas, “We basically did that. I wasn’t very comfortable [running the top], but when you see the leader, you get a little more hungry.”
The result was well worth the effort. Westhafer started on the outside pole and blew around the cushion to take the lead away from Tim Glatfelter in Turn 2.
It was difficult to pass the first half of the event. Cars stuffed their right rears on the cushion and a freight train ensued. Danny Dietrich brought out the first caution on lap 10, when he broke a rear end and slowed on the backstretch. Haas seized the opportunity to slide Glatfelter in Turns 3 and 4 to take the runner-up position. “We started fourth and got up there pretty nice,” Haas said. “Track position was key. The top was very good, but there was a little on the bottom.
“When you have a bottom and a top, it makes for nice racing. It was a little better tonight, and fans saw a good race.” Lance Dewease followed suit to take third on lap 11. Two circuits later, Lucas Wolfe, who started seventh, passed three cars to take fourth. Greg Hodnett followed and passed Pat Cannon for fifth.

Labor Day Weekend Swing Ends at Wayne County on Sunday Evening
Attica, Ohio (September 5, 2015) – Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild continued his breakout season on Saturday night, September 5, with a $5,000 victory at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. It was Haudenschild’s fourth victory of the current season with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions and the fifth of his career. The pilot of the familiar Southern Pacific Farms, #93 took command of the 40-lap, "Attica Ambush" finale officially on lap 12; taking advantage of Tim Shaffer’s early race misfortune. Haudenschild raced the remaining distance untouched, eventually crossing under the checkers with a near five second advantage over Chad Kemenah and Cody Darrah.
“This is a dream team right now with Bonzai and Zach. We do our work during the week, have a little bit of fun, and go to the track ready every weekend” explained Sheldon Haudenschild, “That’s what it takes…being prepared during the week and going to the races on the weekend knowing that you are ready. This is a great way to start it out before going into Wayne County tomorrow. We’ve been good there, so we’ll try to get it done again tomorrow.”
Lee Jacobs and Tim Shaffer paced the 24-car grid to “green” at Attica Raceway Park. Jacobs made the early move and took sole command of the main event, eventually losing the top spot to Aliquippa, Pennsylvania’s Tim Shaffer after brief contact on lap three. Even after contact, the “Steel City Outlaw” kept his momentum and held the top spot until the event’s first and only caution on lap 12. Unfortunately for him, Shaffer would be the victim; coming to a stop on the backstretch for a flat right-rear tire after making contact with the frontstretch wall.
In the mean time, Sheldon Haudenschild charged his way forward from fifth on the grid, finding himself in the runner-up position just before the caution. With Shaffer going pit-side to replace a rear tire, the lead was surrendered to Haudenschild. "Lil Haud" would bring the UNOH All Stars back to green flag conditions, navigating his preferred line near the edge of the racing surface. Despite rubber-down conditions becoming a factor, as well as running into lapped traffic by lap 17, Haudenschild never faltered; eventually sailing away for a second-career Attica Raceway Park victory.
“We were racing (Tim) Shaffer there for the lead and it looked like it was going to be a good race until he got that flat” said Haudenschild, “When the rubber does get down and you get up to the lapped cars that are off the pace, it can be sketchy to slide them because you don’t know if the second place car is in the rubber right there…they’ll definitely get a run on you.”
Chad Kemenah moved himself into the runner-up position soon after the lap-12 restart. The former UNOH All Star series champion would hold on to finish second after starting on the inside of the second row. Friday night winner Cody Darrah crossed the line in the final podium position after racing back and forth with eventual fourth place finisher Chris Andrews. Cap Henry would climb five positions to claim a top-five performance after starting tenth.
“I just want to thank my car owner for sticking this out” said Chad Kemenah, “We’ve been struggling pretty bad. We are either really good, or we are really bad. My brother works his tail off for me. I just want to thank all of my crew, Paul Kistler, everyone for their hard work. I also want to send out a happy birthday to my car owner’s daughter, Lexi. This is a good starting point for us heading into tomorrow…you gotta start somewhere.”
The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions will conclude their three-race Labor Day weekend swing through the “Buckeye State” on Sunday evening, September 6, with a visit to the Wayne County Speedway near Orrville, Ohio. It will be the 50th appearance by the UNOH All Stars at Wayne County Speedway, with the most recent event taking shape back on June 22 during Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket. Sheldon Haudenschild earned the speedweek triumph; a second-career UNOH All Star victory at Wayne County Speedway for the nearby Wooster, Ohio native.

All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing.
