The Central PA 358 Point Series presented by Capitol Renegade capped off a busy weekend for the 358 division with three races at each of the tracks that host the series. Friday night at Trail Way Speedway Brad McClelland picked up his 8th feature win of the season in the rain delayed 25 lap feature event. The race was halted at half way because of a brief rain shower that hit the race track on lap 13, and after an hr and 40 minute delay to get the race track back into shape, McClelland would lead Dwight Leppo, Jeff Rohrbaugh, Mike Bittinger, and Doug Hammaker to the checkers on night 1 of the Trail Way/ Lincoln Speedway Shootout.
Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway Matthew Capbell would charge through the field to pickup his 3rd feature win of the season over Kevin Nouse, Doug Hammaker, Jeff Halligan, and Adrian Shaffer. Campbell would collect $1,300 for his win, and with his 3rd place finish Hammaker would win the TW/Lincoln Speedway Shootout.

PORT ROYAL: No, Brent, it’s not a dream. It might have seemed that way. Brent Marks and Sprint Car drivers across the country imagine climbing on the rear of the car and waving the checkered flag in front of cheering fans. They dream about the flash bulbs of the photographers, standing with a huge trophy and getting that big check. For Marks, it’s a reality.
You will have to excuse the Myerstown driver for having to pinch himself. After all, he scored the biggest win of his career, when he blasted by Sheldon Haudenschild and went on to score the win in the 48th annual Tuscarora 50. Marks’ Sunday night haul was $12,625. It was also his third win in seven days, which was was worth a total bounty of $21,625.
"That’s awesome," Marks said. "We’ve been wanting a new motor, and I think we deserve a new one. "This is a race I wanted to win, one I said we could win. Like I said [last] Monday, to go that long without a win was tough and now, all of a sudden, we pull off three. I just hope I wake up tomorrow, and it wasn’t a dream." This win wasn’t handed to Marks. He had to earn every bit of it after starting back in the 13th position.

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 9/5/2015 – It’s impossible to describe the last two laps of Saturday’s “410” sprint car feature at Lincoln Speedway. To simplify the shock that left a packed house in awe, Freddie Rahmer came from fourth to first in a wild last lap to score his first career “410” sprint car win, coming on the heels of brother Brandon’s first career win one week earlier.
“I knew I had a shot there, but coming through the last corner, that was a little close,” said Rahmer, “I don’t know why it took so long to get going, but I can’t tell you how bad I wanted this, and it means a lot.” Billy Dietrich started outside of polesitter Tim Wagaman and led all but the last lap.
Freddie Rahmer took second from Wagaman on lap three and chased Dietrich for the next 15 laps. That’s when tenth-starting and 2015 Lawrence Chevrolet track champ Brian Montieth (who claimed the title in warmups) grabbed the runner-up spot from Rahmer with six laps to go. Then enter 11th-starting Danny Dietrich, who was charging through the field and grabbed the third spot from Rahmer with two laps to go. As Montieth, Rahmer, and Danny Dietrich crossed under the white flag, Rahmer was sandwiched between the two in a three-car battle for second in heavy lapped traffic.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will present Foss Jewelers Championship Night at 7 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 12, featuring the final points races of the season for the 360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.
In the Mach 1 Chassis 360 sprint car standings, TJ Stutts of Liverpool has already wrapped up his first career track championship. With four wins in a row and five on the season, Stutts leads the standings by 650 points over four-time winner Mark Smith of Sunbury entering the final 360 sprint car race.
Five-time super late model winner Jeff Rine of Danville, who is seeking his 11th career track championship, holds a 125-point lead over three-time winner and former champion Steve Campbell of Danville in the Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center super late model standings. Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove trails by 190 points in the third position.
Three small tracks and two big speedways made up the first five spots in PennLive’s Top 25 raciest tracks in the country for the 410 Sprint Car division.ย ย should come as no surprise there is a slight advantage for the short tracks. And that gap is about to widen a bit as this list continues.
Criteria for this project is as follows: A track must hold a 410 Sprint Car race, a national series race โ World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions, National Sprint League, etc. โ or a series of events. This list is strictly based on racing, not facility or any other amenities.
“It’s one of my favorite tracks to race at.” โ Dave Lunstra, Sprint Car owner.ย ย make it four short tracks in a row, as the list speeds to No. 20: Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.
