Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships to Present the Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show for the 31st Straight Year

Newberrytown, PA (January 16, 2014) – The Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show has seen some change in recent years, however one thing that has remained the same since the inception of the show is the title sponsor, Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships. The doors of the 3-day Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show will swing open on Friday, January 24, 2014 to many race fans, drivers and supporters of local short track racing in the Central Pennsylvania area. The ownership of the long standing and popular Central PA Dirt Trackin’ show held every January in York changed hands back in July.
Todd and Rhonda Fisher, owners of the Susquehanna Speedway Park, have purchased the rights and assets of the wintertime racecar show from Larry Miller of Mechanicsburg.
The Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships (also previously known as the Jack Giambalvo Motor Company) has been locally owned and operated by the Giambalvo family for more than 35 years. "The Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships is actively involved in the York community. We have been a proud sponsor of the Dirt Trackin Show for over 30 years and we look forward to another exciting event this year," said John Giambalvo, President of Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships Public Relations Manager, Nicole Berkebile will be at the show with cars featured throughout the show. The various display of new vehicles will include a Mazda 6, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Dodge RAM, a lifted Jeep Wrangler and a lifted GMC Sierra Truck. The Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships features Buick, GMC, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Hyundai and Mazda.
The 31st Annual Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show presented by Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships at the York Expo Center (Memorial Hall) will begin on Friday, January 24, 2014 (4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.). Saturday show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The three-day show will conclude on Sunday, January 26 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). The set-up day will be Thursday, January 23. The York Memorial Hall Expo Center is located at the York Fairgrounds in York, Pennsylvania.
Many speedways are expected to be on hand to promote their events to race fans for the 2014 season. Many racers will also be displaying their rides for 2014, showing off their sponsors and new paint schemes. The cars displayed will include a wide variety of Sprint Cars, Late Models, Stock Cars, Legends Cars, Classic Cars, All American Outlaws, Quarter Midgets, Go Karts and more. All car judging will be held before the doors open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24. Awards will include Best of Show; Best Open Wheel; Best Stock Car; Best Late Model; Best Quarter Midget; Best Go Kart and more. Vehicle display forms are available online and all cars must be pre-registered in order to receive the complimentary weekend passes.
The Insinger Performance Seminar Series presented by Sunoco will include informational seminars for everyone on all three days of the show. The variety of topics includes setups, sponsorships, charities, series information and more. All seminars are free of charge with a show ticket purchase and seating in the special seminar room is on a first come, first serve basis.
The Ms. Dirt Trackin’ contest will be held on Friday night, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. Zeigler’s Service Center in Spring Grove will present the 12th Annual Ms. Dirt Trackin’ Contest in which the winner will receive $500.00 along with other awards. The top five will receive monetary awards. The Pageant coordinator will be Jaynee Zeigler (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), a former Ms. Dirt Trackin’ winner from 2011. All participants must be at least 18 years of age. New this year will be the Jr. Miss Dirt Trackin’ Contest on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for all girls ages 6-12 years old. General Admission ticket prices for the show (per day) are Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Sunday will feature a special of "Buy one ticket, get one free of equal of less value." On Sunday, race fans are encouraged to bring a friend and expose them to the excitement of short track racing. – Central PA Bloodmobile Taking Donations on Saturday – On Saturday, January 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Central PA Bloodmobile will also be on hand accepting blood donations. Everyone who attempts to donate will receive 2 complimentary general admission tickets to races a the Susquehanna Speedway Park for the 2014 season and a t-shirt. – Author Book Signing at Dirt Trackin’ – Kart and Sports Cars driver Larry Mellott, author of the racing novel, Speedway Summer, will be available all weekend to sign copies of the book he penned about the racing experiences of Brock Lockeman as he enters the world of motorsports in karting. Mellott also wrote Project Orion. Mellott will have his SCCA racer, a 1985 Lynx Formula Vee sports car, on display as well.
– Watch a Racecar Being Built Throughout the Weekend – The Classic Racing Series is proud to announce that it will use the Dirt Trackin’ Show to assemble a complete race car. The Classic Racing Series chassis will show up as "a bare bones" powdered coated skeleton perched on four jack stands. The chassis will take form with all brand new parts along with a brand new freshly coated five-(5) window coupe body. – New Video Debut of Silver Spring Speedway – All weekend, Lynn Schaffer, producer of the popular "Thunder in the PA Mountains" seasonal video, will be showing videos from the past on his "Big Screen" in the west hall of the Dirt Trackin’ Show. A schedule of the videos to be shown include Williams Grove Speedway National Open features, Lincoln Speedway WOO feature races from the past two years, SSP’s 2013 Final Showdown features and Stock Car Highlights from Central PA. The highlight of the Video Theater will be the first-ever public screening of Lynn Schaffer’s "Silver Spring Speedway – the Little Track that Roared," on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Schaffer will also have his newest "2013 Thunder in the PA Mountains" DVD on sale.
– Vintage Toy Display All Weekend – Barry Skelly, of Barry Skelly’s Collector Toys will have many racing related toys from his vast collection on display all three days of the event as well. This display will rekindle the memories of those who played with these toys that sparked their lifelong interest of auto racing.

11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Separating Fact From Fiction in the Racing World (Part 1) – A thirty-five year veteran in the sport of auto racing, JIM BERNHEISEL, owner of Bernheisel Race Components and Lazer Chassis will provide an in-depth presentation and discussion about Dirt Late Model technology and its various myths. Although the presentation is geared towards all Late Model chassis brands, the information will be extremely beneficial for all forms of racing from stock cars to open wheel cars. Jim not only builds racecars but is also a prominent driver in the local Late Model scene.

DENNY GROSS, from 802 Solutions, will also be on hand to discuss his new innovative safety product called "The Crash Pad."

LYNN PAXTON, President of EMMR and notable Sprint Car driver, will begin by discussing the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, the best kept secret in Central PA. After 25 years of existence, EMMR is a place that all race fans should visit every year. THIS EVENT MAY BE HELD ON THE STAGE DUE TO POPULARITY.

12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. How to Have Fun in Racing – ROHAN BEASLEY, director of the Sidewinder Sprint Car Series, will provide a fun and entertaining presentation showing the various ways to have fun in racing. This driver from "Down Under" will proivde a realistic approach of how to keep your racing affordable and enjoyable for both you and your family.
1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Legends Cars – Central PA Legends Car driver, CHAD EARNST, will host an informative discussion and Q & A about getting started in one of the most popular divisions of racing in the world. Topics include the origins of Legends Cars, car rules & specifications, purchasing a car, safety requirements and getting started in racing. Learn how the same Legends Cars that run dirt locally can run asphalt oval, or road courses throughout the United States and around the world. screening" (by Lynn Schaffer Productions) – For years, you could set your clock by this 7:00 pm starting time at Silver Spring Speedway. Sadly, this fan favorite was replaced by a shopping center after its 2005 season, but Dirt Trackin’ Patrons can view the first ever public screening, although this – Lynn Schaffer’s most anticipated production may still not be completely finished.
Saturday (7:00 p.m.): Dave’s Stock Car Highlights (by Fast Trax Video) – Full bodied cars are
a big part of the Central PA racing circuit. Susquehanna Speedway Park’s videographer Dave Zortman’s work rivals professional television productions. The stocks cars take the big screen as we present "Dave’s Choice."
Sunday (1:00 p.m.): 2013 SSP Final Showdown (by Fast Trax Video) – The final racing
program of 2013 on the Central PA racing circuit entertained a full house with a pair of photo finishes. We wind up our special presentation schedule with both 410 and 358 Sprint Car features from the Susquehanna Speedway Park’s Final Showdown thanks to Dave Zortman.
When there are no special videos on the "Big Screen," Lynn Schaffer’s 2013 THUNDER IN THE PA MOUNTAINS video will be shown. The video will also be available for purchase during the Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show.
